Group Counselling is a process where a group of clients who have similar issues or concerns meet with a Counsellor in order to discuss those issues. It is an opportunity for them to learn more and share useful information and to troubleshoot difficult scenarios they may be faced with. An example of this would be a group of mothers who have children diagnosed with ADHD.
Group Counselling takes place in a safe and confidential environment so that clients may have their opportunity to normalize their experiences, deal with the stresses relating to their challenge and create opportunities for change to occur. This is an opportunity for group members to learn new skills that will positively affect their mental well being.
The number of sessions will be dependent on the specific needs and goals of the group and will be discussed in the first session.
The length of the session will be approx. 90 minutes.
